POPIA Notice

Last updated: 19 April 2026

1. Responsible party

For purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (Act 4 of 2013), AptTick, operated by Entrepreter Pty Ltd, is the responsible party for the personal information processed through the AptTick platform.

2. Why we process personal information

We process personal information so that we can register users, run readiness assessments, deliver accredited training, track learner progress, manage evidence and placement pathways, communicate with users, and meet legal or reporting duties linked to accredited delivery.

3. Lawful basis for processing

Our processing is based on one or more lawful grounds recognised under POPIA. These include your consent, the need to perform a contract or requested service, and legal obligations connected to accredited programme delivery, reporting, and record retention.

4. Categories of information

Depending on how you use AptTick, we may process account details, assessment responses and outputs, course participation records, submission and evidence files, support messages, payment metadata, and placement-related information.

5. Sharing and operators

We use selected operators and service providers to support the platform, including hosting, payments, email delivery, and AI-enabled services. Where information is shared, it is limited to what is reasonably necessary for that service. We also disclose information to QCTO, SETAs, or partner organisations where this is required for accredited delivery or where a learner has applied to a partner opportunity.

6. Your rights under POPIA

Subject to applicable limits, you may request access to your personal information, ask for corrections, object to certain processing, or ask for deletion where we are not required to retain information. You may also withdraw consent where consent is the basis for processing, although this may affect our ability to deliver some services.

7. Information Officer

The current contact point for POPIA and information-processing matters is info@entrepreter.com. This address is serving as our Information Officer contact while the role details are being finalised.

8. Complaints to the Information Regulator

If you believe your information has been handled unlawfully or unfairly, you may raise the matter with us first. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforeg@justice.gov.za.
