1. Who we are
AptTick is a skills-to-income platform operated by Entrepreter Pty Ltd (registration number 2018/525238/07). AptTick is a QCTO-accredited Skills Development Provider under accreditation number 07-QCTO/SDP090326201131. Our business address is 18 Big Charles Avenue, Mooikloof, Pretoria, South Africa. General contact queries may be sent to info@entrepreter.com.
2. What data we collect
We collect the information needed to operate the platform and deliver accredited learning services. This includes account details such as your name, email address, and password hash; assessment responses and scored outputs; learning progress, completion records, evidence submissions, and placement activity; payment metadata processed through Paystack; and support or service messages you send to us.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to create and manage your account, deliver the learner journey, score and report on readiness, provide training and guided practice, support partner opportunity matching, send service and security emails, process payments, respond to support queries, and meet reporting duties linked to accredited delivery and SETA or QCTO administration.
4. Who we share it with
We share data only where needed to operate the service. This may include Paystack for payment processing, Resend for transactional email, Supabase for database and storage infrastructure, and AI providers used for narrative generation or coaching support, including OpenAI by default and Anthropic where enabled. We may also disclose information to QCTO, SETAs, or similar accredited-delivery stakeholders where required. Partner organisations receive learner information only after a learner explicitly applies for a placement pathway.
5. Where data is stored
AptTick stores core application data in Supabase PostgreSQL and related storage infrastructure. Our current hosted database environment is in the EU West region, including Ireland-based infrastructure used for managed database access. Service providers may process limited data outside South Africa where needed to deliver the platform, subject to their security and contractual controls.
6. How long we keep information
Account, assessment, learning, and placement records are retained for five years after the last learner activity unless a longer period is required by law, regulation, or accredited-delivery obligations. After that period, we will delete or anonymise records where reasonably possible.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to your personal information, ask us to correct inaccurate records, object to certain processing, or request deletion where we are not legally required to keep the information. To exercise these rights, email privacy@entrepreter.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
8. Cookies and analytics
We use essential cookies and related browser storage to keep you signed in, maintain session security, and support basic site functionality. We may also use limited analytics or operational logs to understand platform performance, detect faults, and improve the learner experience. We do not use cookies to sell your information.
9. Children
AptTick is not intended for children under the age of 18. If we become aware that personal information has been provided by a minor without appropriate legal basis, we will take reasonable steps to remove it.
10. Updates to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or product changes. When we do, we will update the date shown above and publish the revised version on this page.
11. Contact
